Zell
am See
Zell am See is a town of about 90,000, on Lake Zell south of Salzburg. Trails
& lifts lead to ski slopes on Schmittenhohe mountain. There are 250 miles
of ski runs accessed by 121 cable cars & lifts! The town was founded by
monks in the 8th century. Construction of the railroad in 1875 opened the
area to development and tourism.
