Bad Gastein - Part 2 of 2
We rode the Stubnerkogel Lift up and down the mountain. It started operating in December 2009. It's 2.6 kilometers long, rising 1,136 meters with a middle station. The doorways to the cars are able to accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. The speed of the lift is 6 meters per second and 2,800 people per hour can be transported from Bad Gastein to the top!

Linda is just to the right of this little person. Roxy missed…got caught looking at the view & missed her. This is the Stubnerkogel hangebrucke (suspension bridge). It's 150 yards long (just a par three).

Roxy made it across!! She's not fond of heights, pretty sure she didn't look down or stop to soak in the scenery.

This is the Glocknerblick, a viewing platform with expansive views. If it was clear, we could have seen the Grossglockner, Austria's highest mountain. The views were impressive even with the clouds!

This is the Rock Trail. It's a steel walkway hung directly in the rock. It felt very secure walking along.

A suspension bridge along the Rock Trail. It's a short looping trail leading to a lookout point.

We enjoyed our time on the mountain. It felt like we were on the top of the world with 360 degree views!

We walked along the Elisabeth Promenade. It's a another shared path, walkers, bicycles, scooters and motorized wheelchairs. Lots of signage. This is the little village of Bockstein.

Continuing along the Elisabeth Promenade, we were in farm country. Saw lots of dairy cows, a few horses & lots of meadows or hay fields. Waterfalls we're cascading throughout the 3 mile route. We're walking to lunch at the head of the valley.

We made it to our lunch destination, Astenalm. The menu was in German and we didn't have cell coverage to use google translate. So, we pointed at an item on the menu Roxy's holding. This is what came, a meat & cheese platter. Es war gut (it was good)!
