Lake Bled - Vintgar Gorge
Vintgar Gorge is located on the eastern edge of Triglav National Park about 4 km from Bled. It was a pleasant walk to the gorge. We were quite surprised when we reached the parking area and saw how many people were visiting. Glad it was a one way trail! After walking through the gorge we walked through forest and scenic pastures back to Bled.

On our way the Vintgar Gorge at 9 am, we decided to gather some energy in the form of hazelnut cake & cream cake. Linda is trying the cream cake (Kremna rezina). Lake Bled has the certificate granting protected designation of origin status because the recipe comes from here. Both were delicious!

The walk to Vintgar Gorge passed through rural farms and small villages.

Loved to see these road signs! There are so many roads that look like bike paths we often get turned around. Google maps is actually very good, but if you can find a street name, it must be spelled out because there is no way to pronounce it!

Vintgar Gorge is 1 mile long and 820 feet deep. The one way trail consists of bridges and boardwalks.

Vintgar Gorge. Absolutely beautiful crystal clear water.

This is the Sum waterfall at the end of the gorge.
Lots of water

Passing thru the village of Zasip. As we wandered down, it was very fun to see all the different landscapes & houses.

Checking out the flowers. The phone tells us this is climbing dog rose.

We came by beautiful flowers in yards on the walk back to Bled. There weren't many cars on this road, more bicycles and walkers. The roads are narrow, seems like one lane but we did see traffic both ways.
