Today we hiked Buckskin Gulch starting from the Wirepass trailhead between
Page, AZ & Kanab, UT. Buckskin Gulch is a 22 mile slot canyon, one of
the longest in the world. The rock formations are amazing with steep narrow
sandstone walls. The road in to the trailhead was a bit rough, 8.5 miles of
washboard gravel. Our black van is now beige!

The
walls were "kinda" close together! Good there hasn't been
any rain
we had nowhere to go!! |
We are now in Buckskin Gulch. Note the tree spanning the walls over Roxy's head. Some of the walls are 500 feet above the streambed. |

Miles
and miles of close walls with fantastic colors and striations. |
