Enjoyed
a few more beach walks, so many shells! |
Into
the rain forest. The trees are huge & as they fall there are many
stages of decomposition. |
This
is a BIG cedar! |
|
We
came upon a herd of elk. |
Tropical
house plant on steroids!! |
Along
the Hall of Mosses trail in Hoh Rainforest. |
|
This
might be a Sitka spruce, hard to tell cause the branches are about 200
feet above us! Can't believe they don't tip over with the trunks looking
like tripods. |
Trees
are growing out of this root ball! |
This
view is straight up thru the van's roof window. We're camped in the
Hoh rainforest. The area gets 140 plus inches of rain annually. 50 degrees
& lots of rain
brrrr! |
|
Hiked
up to a waterfall at Sol Duc. Linda is enjoying the view from the bridge.
Still toasty from the soak at the hot springs. |
Soaking
in Sol Duc Hot Springs was a great way to start the day! Sol Duc is
a Quilute Indian word for sparkling water. In the 1880's Theodore Moritz
staked a claim, built cedar tubs and soon folks were coming to soak
in the healing waters. |
We
found snow up at Hurricane Ridge. It's 43 degrees, the wind is howling,
Roxy's in the van drinking hot tea! |
