Here's the Port Townsend Post Office, completed in 1893. We enjoyed walking about town on a glorious sunny day, one of the few lately!

Loading up, on & off is very efficient! We were near the front of the line and seemed to be underway soon after we parked.

We camped in Deception Pass State Park, hiked from North Beach, Goose Rock trail, over the bridge and back.

Townsend has lots of restored buildings built in the late 1800s. Beautiful flowers everywhere.

Here comes our ride, MV Salish. $16.30 to take us & the van to Coupeville, about 1/2 hr ride. Much more pleasant & cheaper than driving back down towards Seattle & dealing with the traffic!!

The Deception Pass bridge built in 1935 actually spans two narrow channels from Whidbey Island to Fidalgo Island. Used to be a ferry crossing thru very turbulent waters.
Today about 15,000 vehicles cross it every day!
