Another longer driving day today from Lake Argyle to Katherine, with just a couple roadhouse stops along the way.

We got up at sunrise to get a good start on the day.

Rest stop at Victoria River Roadhouse.

It wasn’t long before we left Western Australia behind. We also changed time zones going into the Northern Territory, 1 1/2 hours ahead! We’re wondering how that came about?
---

There are some fun signs along the highways. This is a reminder to prevent bushfires.

Crossing the Victoria River near the roadhouse.

We followed a loaded triple, double decker cattle truck for a while. Were quite happy to stay back and not try and pass. The speed limit in the Northern Territory is 130km, but the GPS in the van told us not to exceed 110km. No problem, that’s plenty fast!

We saw signs for the black spot project and wondered that they were. It’s a program aimed at reducing road crash injuries and fatalities by repairing high incident road sections. Black spot refers to asphalt repair..

This wallaby greeted us in the caravan park tonight at Nitmiluk National Park outside of Katherine.

This lizard was posing for us as we wandered around Nitmiluk National Park. He was frilled not grilled.

This is the Katherine River. We’re going on a cruise to see the gorges tomorrow.
