Belknap Hot Springs to Sisters, OR - 38

WE MADE IT!!!! Awesome
day! Beautiful weather, up and over Mckenzie Pass, 4000' climb in 22
miles. At times our riding speed was 3.5 mph, we took a few walk breaks and made
it to the summit, 5,325' in 5 1/2 hours. The road was closed to cars for
17 miles, hadn't yet opened for the season,
it's closed all winter. No cars made it an awesome bike path. We met many bikes
enjoying the awesome day and scenery, dense pine forests, lava flows and
the Cascade mountains. Deb & Perrin met us as we were cruising downhill and
road to Sisters with us. From Sisters we loaded up in the car and drove back to
their home in Bend. Had a great dinner with them and will spend the day tomorrow
relaxing, enjoying their company and regrouping.

views from the top are spectacular. The Three Sisters, Jefferson, Washington and
more mountains were surrounding us. Bikes everywhere. Pretty special that we were
able |
