Day 12 - Baker City, OR - REST day
Ahhh......hot showers and epson salt baths to sooth tired bodies! Completed chores in record time, laundry is across the street and so is Safeway. We restocked some road food, enjoyed diet coke,
Starbucks and a variety of restaurant choices. This is the largest town since Bend. We went to the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center located on Flagstaff Hill overlooking Baker City. Really interesting
and well done, hard to imagine traveling 6 months along a wagon trail and all the challenges. The Oregon Trail passed thru here, and some of the wheel ruts are still visible. This evening we watched a
parade celebrating the 100th year of the Oregon Cattleman's Association. Haven't ever seen so many horses! There must have been at least 100, they just kept coming around the corner. Tonight we organized the panniers, lubed the bike chains, took another soak and are hoping for sunny skies and warm temps tomorrow.
