Day 14 - Halfway, OR to Cambridge, ID - 57 miles ... 535 total miles
Another great day, no rain, cloudy so it wasn't too hot. We bagged our first state! We left Oregon as we crossed the Snake River into Idaho. Idaho welcomed us with a big climb starting at Brownlee
Dam, the state line. The scenery continues to be stunning. After
13 miles of climbing we had a wonderful downhill into Cambridge where we're spending the night.

Day 15 - Cambridge, ID to New Meadows, ID -
47 miles ... 582 total miles
Tough day! Idaho is hilly...our ride today was on hwy 95 which is an older road, narrow with lots of traffic and little to no shoulder. We climbed thru farms and ranches into the forest. At Tamarack, 7 miles south of New Meadows, we rode by a huge forest products operation. One side of the road was rows of logs and the other stacks of boards. As we rolled into New Meadows we spotted our friends, Jez & Mel at a coffee shop. Good to see them again! After chatting a bit, they headed down the road and we found a motel for the night. Happy to be warm and dry, the skies opened up just after we arrived. Our bikes developed a few minor glitches & we're passing thru small towns with no bike shops. Last night we googled New Meadows bicycle shops and found The Pedal Medic, who makes house calls! Don & Mary just stopped by our motel tonight and fixed us up. Great folks!

Breakfast at Oxbow Dam. Little did we know,
the road turned straight uphill for too long!

This sign was kinda cute. The owner said she bought the motel 20 yrs ago & this was the message. She was told it was a local landmark so decided to leave it.
