Day 80 - Rochester, VT to Fairlee, VT - 54 miles .......... 3744 total miles.
Chatted with Debbie & Rich over breakfast about the devastation caused by the heavy rains of hurricane Irene in 2011 to Rochester and the local area. The White River rose quickly, overflowing the banks, taking out the bridges that provided access to town and knocking out the power. They talked about how neighbors worked together and helped each other to survive. The power of water is amazing, the power of people is also amazing! The hills continued today along with beautiful scenery. The last 8 miles of the day we rode along the Connecticut River, the border between Vermont & New Hampshire, to Fairlee where we're staying tonight.
